Our mission reflects our dedication to celebrating the beauty of the written word. By removing traditional  barriers for writers we aim to level the publishing playing field. We believe artists who are educators deserve to have their voices amplified beyond the walls of academia. We promote work that is profound, impactful and transformative.

ATU, short for All The Unexpected, is the brainchild of publisher Kimberly Headley. Founded at the end of 2020, ATU Publishing has expanded from a single magazine run to what is now a diverse catalog of genres. ATU publishes not only educational materials and children’s books, but has also waded into the depths of beauty that is poetry. 

Regardless of the genre, we remain committed to publishing the highest quality of work. Work that is inspirational, transformative and also informative. Our writers are our greatest asset. It is an incredible privilege to be asked to share their words with the world.
